So I did go down the shops today, and get the caulk I needed! (Also food.) And I THINK I've got the whole thing sealed nicely, I'll just have to check again in the morning.

Aaaaand now it's freaking 5am, good job me. Going to bed now! >: Sleeeeeeep, I needs it.

Today was a Long Day. I woke up before my alarm, even! At like. 9am. Gross. But also it meant I had plenty of time to have a shower and get my hair mostly dry before I went out, which is yay!

Less yay: I was cold while out because all of my hoodies were either dirty. Or wet. Because I just washed them. WHOOPS. Should've done that washing a bit earlier... >>;; Still, wasn't TOO bad in just a t-shirt and a long sleeved top, but also I hate being cold booo.

Also there were fucking bus replacements and those are always super annoying!!!! But seeing A was great, and that's the important thing. :D Yes. (There were also soooo many people around because school holidays, which is. A thing. Bleh, crowds.)

Um. Other than that, mostly Vintage Story. I wrote a freaking todo, because of course I did. Also Scout remains very very cute! And I am rambly as fuck soooo yet another point in the 'go the fuck to sleep' column I will. Attempt to do that now. Again. You know how it goes...

Spent most of the day with A, which was nice! Also A Lot, because even on a Monday the city is noisy, but it was still fun! :3 Didn't get up to much of anything interesting, though I DID buy some decent rice.

Baffling. Life is too short and hard to deliberately eat bad rice, if you ask me.

Anyway OTHER THAN THAT, which apparently I have A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT, nothing much. It took me ages to get back here because trying to navigate a new train line should be easy enough but there was A Problem so none of the trains that come out here were stopping at the station I was expecting to catch it from - they usually do! But Something Happen, and they weren't, and then the station worker told me the absolute most convoluted way to get to where I could catch one, siiigh. It did work! Eventually! But uh yeah, a lot of fucking around.

I also stopped at a supermarket to get eggs on the way back from the station, but I still need to go again tomorrow because apparently I'm almost out of milk already. WHY. Why is all the milk gone ;; (Answer: because you fucking drank it, dumbass.) Still, now that I have eggs I can make microwave pancakes, which will be fun! >D There's a bunch of frozen fruit in the freezer I can experiment with putting in!! I wonder if mandarin would work, too? Hmmm. Not sure it wouldn't explode in a microzapper, but worth a try... If not, I can at least use some of the sour ones like lemons and have mandarin-and-sugar on top...

That's all I got done painting-wise, but fuckit. Done with undercoat!!! This included another round of sand and fill, for the lower walls. Can't be fucked for the upper walls, might sand them when doing more cornice shit but ugh, moving the ladder around constantly is just. So annoying.

In cooking news, which is what I was focusing on today, I did in fact use the food processor on all the zucchini I had picked and I got... somewhat more than NINE FUCKING CUPS worth. What. That's absolutely ridiculous! That's six more loaves of bread, is what it is! HALF A DOZEN LOAVES.

Anyway, I chucked the bit over into the pasta sauce I was making, as well as shredding the carrots in the bottom of the fridge that were still good, so now I have delicious bolognaise! :V :V :V So, pasta for a while, yesss. :3

Tomorrow, I'm not sure how much painting I'll get done - it's my cousin's engagement party, and I'm kind of obligated to go and take the present, since everyone else can't go. Also, you know, family event, should go, etc. etc.

Anyway that starts at kittydinnertime, so I'll need to be clean and dressed up fancy (...and wrap the present, I keep forgetting to do that) before then. So uh. No painting until AFTER I get home, I get too much paint on me. (Even after washing all the stuff I still have paint on my hands from today orz orz orz. That's WITH the scrapey soap!!!)

My auntie's picking me up and dropping me off, and hopefully she won't want to stay too late - she lives pretty far away and has dogs, so - but depending on How Much Social I may be pretty pancaked by the time I get back. Soooo we'll see, I guess!

Sooo Sibling dropped in this morning, and, well. Apparently the roof is super uneven - I can't see it, but we all know what my fucking vision is like. :/ So rather than waste time fretting about it I gave it another coat. With the goddamn roller. Hopefully that fixes it. If not, I'm probably gonna have to buy more paint. :|

( I did uh A LOT of home improvement rambling today. Mostly because I did A Number Of Things and want to talk about all of them. )

I ALSO spent some time rummaging under the house looking for some lights my father apparently has, that should light up the room better (particularly for painting), but could I find them? No. I did, however, find some things that REALLY need to not be under the house - some empty bags that should be cleaned and stored inside so they don't degrade (two of them are leather!), clothes pegs that might as well be somewhere they can be USED, some stuff that I suspect is Just Goddamn Rubbish at this point, etc. etc. So at least it wasn't totally wasted effort, just annoying

Anyway I started the last work session a bit after 11, and then the next time I noticed the clock it was after 2 somehow (I was definitely not working most of that time! I only did a little bit over an album's worth of work!) (Daft Punk's Discovery today, which is good working music), which is why I'm still up this late. Whoops! >>;; Anyway, bed now yes. Sleeps are good for you!

Given that I didn't actually DO anything except a load of washing on before sometime after 5pm, I'm surprised at how much stuff I got done today!

(I slept most of the afternoon, because it was the kind of oppressive heat that makes you want to cry if you have to do anything athletic in it. Also the paint specifically says to not use it if it's over 35 degrees, and it was... 34.8 on the BOM app. So you know. Close enough to not want to risk it!)

I was kinda considering going to bunnings again for the rest of the paint (and some advice for blocking off the massive gaps down the sides of the bookshelves), but I'm glad I didn't - it started raining about the time I woulda left, and it didn't stop for several hours. Maybe tomorrow, instead!

Either way tomorrow morning will be peering at the ceiling and hoping to not fine more places that need more paint. If I don't find any I guess it'll be time to peel off the tape, reapply it to the other side of the line, and start scrubbing the cornices and tops of the walls! I think I'm gonna work downwards in sections, so the next bit will be the cornices and the tops of the walls above the picture rails. Just makes it easier on my brain to have smaller sections to focus on, you know?

Anyway, time to hide the zucchini bread from Sushi and take a nap, yes! :D Also figure out where I put my phone, I should really make sure I don't have any messages before I sleep...

Holy SHIT I got it all done! It took me until 2am, but I got it all done! All that's left in the room is the stepladder, a dropcloth, my curtains, and a whoooole lotta dustbunnies. So so many dustbunnies.

Also I am extremely tired omfg. I was actually cutting it really close - the last couple of things I got down from the top of the bookshelves I was wobbly in the 'you need to stop this NOW or you're gonna drop something and/or hurt yourself' way. Luckily that was the last of it, so I didn't actually have anything bad happen, but I still haven't put some stuff where it's gonna stay for a while because... nope. No more stepladder tonight nope.

Um. I think I had something else to say but I've forgotten. I'm very very tired. At least I've got the house aired out now, I'm hoping if I have a blanket I'll be able to sleep better.

Windows are all done! (Well. They need to be painted. But that's a different job entirely.)

They look much nicer with the architraves in, which isn't a surprise! :3 The flyscreens aren't exactly the same, it turns out, they have a different snibbing mechanism. Soooo we'll see how that goes vs Sushi. (I am not exactly confident in its ability to keep him in. He is extremely determined.)

Speaking of the cats, they had their vet appointment today! ( Vet medical stuff! )

Other than that... went with Mama when she went to look at bathers, mainly just to get out of the house. The three of us REALLY don't fit in the back of the house together, particularly not at the moment, so it was good to not be there for... a couple of hours.

Yeah. It took forever. And Mama didn't end up getting anything, because the current look of stuff is uh. Cleavage everywhere! Which she's not comfortable with. And this is WITH the stuff with built in bras for big boobed people! :/ Would really be nice if there was something with support that also, you know, covered you up a lot more. Sometimes bathers are not for fashion, they're for not getting sunburned when you're wet! Mama has enough sun-related skin problems as it is!!! Siiiiigh.

Anyway, REALLY looking forward to being able to go the fuck back to sleep after kitty breakfasttime tomorrow morning. I didn't get to sleep until I don't even fucking know when last night, I just know that the last time I checked the time after going to the loo it was like 4:45, and I was up at 8, so yeah I did NOT get enough sleep. Had a bit of a nap, but really not more than like an hour, which is... still not enough. Nope.

Anyway. Yes. The sleeping, it should start now. Yessss.

Aircon guy came today, replaced the old aircon! Took like. Two hours, which was fine. Early in the morning, which was... fine, annoying but also given that today was Quite Warm I absolutely understand him wanting to get the hard manual labour done before it got too hot.

I will not be using the new aircon, as it is controlled solely by an app. Plz to insert that one tech enthusiasts vs computer professionals meme here, I just. Do not.

Staying at other people's houses for a while really does show you how little you know about how 'normal houses' work, hahahahaha. I suppose if you're the kind of people who'll run the aircon all day every day when it's hot it all works just fine together, I am just. Not that kind of person. At all.

Yes! Today I DID work on the computer some more! (Also I cleaned the bathroom but that's not even vaguely interesting.)

Anyway without going into too much detail (again), I lost. ( ...I went into too much detail again though, so that's under the cut. )

Anyway, Ubuntu isn't a bad backup, and at least I could get it installed. Plus one of the people I play multiplayer games with occasionally is a full-time Ubuntu user, so if I run into any weird problems I can't figure out how to fix via my usual shaking of the internet (likelihood: high) I have someone I can ask! Though honestly I'm not going to be needing too much shit on this one anyway; firefox is preinstalled so the other two big ones are going to be Discord (which can run in the browser anyway), and Steam. And hey, I know these can run on Ubuntu, given Friend, so the real question is if they can run on ARM... which they probably can!

In non-computer talk, it's apparently going to get hotter again as the week goes on, so I'mma make the Christmas pav tomorrow. It's only like a week earlier than I'd usually do it, that's fine for pav - the thing you've gotta worry about is the cream, and that's always morning-of anyway!
