tyger: Mickey in his OXIII coat. Text: Light in Darkness (Mickey - Light In Darkness)
So today Sibling asked me to go give Yuki a walk because it didn't happen this morning. ( Yay Yuki! )

Other than that... enrolled into one of my classes for next semester, haven't decided on the other. There's a couple I'm thinking about, I need to contact the, you know, enrollment people and ask a couple of things before I decide. But of course it was like midnight by the time I got to that step soooo.... tomorrow, at the earliest. Probably the day after though, because reasons.

ALSO I PLAYED TOOKI'S NEW GAME CHOOK & SOSIG: WALK THE PLANK AND IT IS SUPER CUTE AND CHEERFUL AND PRETTY AND I HAD A GREAT TIME if you like adventure games and/or ridiculous characters now featuring horrible flying goblin children (aka a parrot), definitely pick it up! :D
tyger: Eevee. Text: イーブィ (pokémon - eevee)
Home now, yay! Well. I mean. Desktop, yay! Comfy room, yay! Seeing Mama, yay!

My room is even more of a disaster area than it was when I left, though, because of some reasons, and it's a little overwhelming. The addition of my stuff from A's place isn't helping. (I should really unpack...)

This morning went more or less to plan, other than A getting home before I left. Which was fine, it was great to see her (also I got presents because A is super sweet like that. Mostly pokemon stuff, it's great. Particularly the World's Best Snowpix Toy, omfg, see below). Still, everything got done in time, Mama took me home, it was fine.

( Terraria stuff )

ANYWAY.

Here is a picture of The Best Snowpix, and also a napping eevee. Under a cut!

( Image might be any size I'm just grabbing it from Discord, where I uploaded it right from my phone. )

I am going to sleep now, before I pass out sitting, or it's suddenly dawn. Neither of those are good options. :|
tyger: Axel, Roxas, and Xion, on the clocktower. (Axel Roxas and Xion - clocktower)
Seriously brain, why. Why you do this to me.

Ni-chan's grandmother passed away this morning, so that kinda sucked. ( Surprisingly, this is cut for talking about death. )

Apart from that kind of a nothing day. Played some Feel the Snow but not much because UGH BOSS FIGHT I AM SO BAD AT IT. Tried to play two of my new games from the Steam sale, but UGH BUGS - one is a glitchy graphics issue (which I apparently have a lot better than some people, who just get a pink screen, but I'd rather not suffer through it, either), and the other is an old game that won't go into windowed mode and is gross and stretched on my screen - not ratio-stretched, just. It was small and now it is big and you can see the fuzz of pixels, sort of shit. SO THAT WAS ANNOYING.

Anyway, it's ridiculous o'clock, I'mma... go to bed. Yes.

Sad day.

( Funeral talk, so feel free to skip! )

Anyway, that kind of drained all my mental energy for the day. Since it was in the morning, that means I got very little done. But I DID get some stuff done this afternoon, I edited a thing and talked to my group a bit so I'm pretty proud. :3

I also played an incredibly terrible clickygame, called Dance of Death. It's BAD. Do not recommend, unless you get it for free and literally have nothing better to do. I mean, do it if you're considering doing something stupid or neg-stimming or whatever, but generally uh no. It's bad. Put your time and money somewhere else. And this is me saying this as someone who likes objectively facepalm-worthy clickygames, so yeaaaah.

*flomp*

tyger: Axel, looking sad. (Axel - needs hugs)
Today was... a day? IDK.

Cleaned the bathroom and the floors out back - both sweeping and then mopping, which was surprisingly tiring. Mainly the sweeping, probably because I was getting under things and stuff, but still. Body. Oi.

Did some art, but it wasn't... really... working too well, ffff.

( Games talk - Secrets of Rætikon, Stardew Valley )
tyger: Beat, hand on his hat and laughing. (Beat - Bwahahaha)
Okay, so, today I played a bunch of Stardew Valley, and I'm enjoying it. :3 (Liz, you're absolutely right, I DID need that time-control mod something chronic to enjoy it. BUT NOW I AM, yaaaay.) Turns out the thing I needed to do WAS watch some lets play eps; am now nowhere near so twitchy about things!

( As always, I ramble )

Other than that, I did a bunch more stuff around the house, which was nice. Including more cleaning out the gutters - my ankle's improved SO MUCH since last time we tried it, it's amazing. :D Ended up pulling probably ~a bucket of gunk out of the gutters - approximate because I uh, don't have good aim, but even the stuff that landed IN the bucket was half a bucket's worth - and we haven't even finished one side! Will maybe do that tomorrow, depending on how Mama's feeling after her doctor's appointment. (Nothing major, but sometimes outsides can't happen afterwards, so yeah.)

And now it's pass out o'clock, nainai <3

So um yeah. Orcish Inn. It's a braineater. (I love it so much. :x)

In other news, bureaucratic bullshit is still being a fucking pain in the ass. Currently at the stage where I have to look for work (despite a) being a full time student, and b) being a crazy that can't do too many things without brain falling out) while I wait for them to get back to me re: student claim.

S I G H

The one upside is the lady I was working with today was very much of the omfg that blows, you have to do this because rules so you can still get money, but I really hope it gets sorted on their end soon way of thinking, which was nice.

Other than that I did shopping since I had to be out of the house anyway, and also about an hour of arting, though nothing was finished. Mainly I just decided that that was sucktastic enough for a morning (particularly given how much additional shit I got from my ankle, which was a lot) and just did whatever I felt like. Which was... mostly playing Orcish Inn. >>;;;

( Babble )

...that got long, yeah, I'm tired and rambly time for SLEEP NOW yes. <3

Orcish Inn

Yeah, I'm aware of what the time is. Now. >>;;

Soooo Tooki over on YouTube started doing a series of let's plays for a game called Orcish Inn. She describes it as "kind of like Stardew Valley, but you're an orc, and we're running a pub".

It's AMAZING.

You can download the pre-alpha for free over here on itch.io (Win or Linux), or via Steam (it's on the sidebar, not below the pictures, since it's not the actual game just a prerelease), and it's basically a farming-slash-shopkeeping sim of AWESOME. It's got all the things I like about Harvest Moon type games (building things! growing things! gathering things! exploring!), and none of the things that make my brain twitch so much I can't actually play (TIME-SENSITIVE NPC BULLSHIT), and basically I played a couple of hours to get my head around what the game actually is, then rerolled a new game and then suddenly it was 3:30am. Um. >> (I haven't even built my pub yet! I did successfully brew beer, though, I am proud. :3)

Anyway I think it's amazing and you should totally play it if you like farming type sim games! Also, you can't actually die, so even when you fuck up and have no food (I have done this A LOT okay) you just get crazy bad status effects that will, in fact, wear off. EVENTUALLY.

[personal profile] untonuggan I really, REALLY think you'll like this game, you should give it a try. :D
tyger: Blurry Roxas at the base of the skyscraper from Deep Dive. Text: nobody (Roxas - nobody)
Bluh.

At least today I was up way later than I meant to be for a good reason - a friend of mine is going through a bad patch, so I was sharing some of the shit I know about brain management. ( Read more... )

Other than that... I went on a pretty massive walk today! :D ALSO I spent some time digging out ivy in the garden! I had to lay down to recover from that one, but it was so worth it. :3 Also also I got some work on comms done, and THEN, in a stunning twist of self-care, spent the evening playing a stupid clicky game rather than do more comm work and risk burning myself out.

It was actually pretty good for a stupid clicky game, too! Called Small Town Terrors: Pilgrim's Hook. ( Blather! )

NTS: Write a review on Steam tomorrow, you've been meaning to do that more and it's a good opportunity.
tyger: Axel, Roxas, and Xion, on the clocktower. (Default)
So today I pmuch did fuck all, because it was hot. It's still hot, in fact! It's amazing, but not really conductive to getting shit done.

But I DID play Detective Grimoire! The whole thing, it's not a particularly long game (I still have two Steam card drops I have to have it open to get!). I honestly really enjoyed it! It's pretty clearly aimed at a younger audience than I'm used to - probably like 8-12ish age? I'm not sure I'm bad at guessing that - because the puzzles were all pretty damn easy (it's not really a puzzle game though which helps I guess?). But that just means the fairly simplistic story and occasional logic-jumps didn't annoy me - it's designed so that small humans can keep the entire thing in their heads, of course it's not super complex! And honestly, for a point and click adventure game, the plot was definitely on the higher end of the 'coherent and sensible' spectrum.

Anyway, I had a great time, and it left me wanting Moar Adventures in the 'verse, which I think will be forthcoming, yay! :D I payed like $1.50 or something for it on Steam, too, since it's Winter Sales O'clock, which I do think was a good price. I'm guessing it's a port of a mobile game, too, so possibly on one of those thingies. Anyway, if you like point and click adventure games, and/or detective stories, you might enjoy it!

So tired, I swear, uuugh. I finished the art thing, though! And then I had lunch, and then I saved and posted the twenty billion images you need to submit things. And then I had a nap, because homg.

BUT YAY IT'S DONE!! :D Done is so good, yes.

Other than that, I did... very little. Because tiiiired.

( Game things, cute for length. )
tyger: The Shounen Tantei (pre-Ai) hiding in a locker, with the text 'We solemnly swear we're up to good'. (ST - Up To Good)
It just ate my entire post, because OF COURSE IT DID. *kicks it*

Oh well, dotpoint highlights, I'm not writing it again:

- productive day! Included a PHONE CALL to a STRANGER
- Craft The World: not for me, too many moving pieces and also you can't really go at your own pace
- You Can Build A Boat: fun! :D
- I just realised I can put stickers on my crutches. >D

And now I sleep, yes.
tyger: Axel, Roxas, and Xion, on the clocktower. (Default)
I just noticed the cat was hiding in here - she doesn't WANT to go outside at night, but if she doesn't she makes gross messes, so - and because can't, you know, walk, and ALSO can't really hop/use crutches/etc because, you know, cat, I ended up walking her out on my knees. My knees do not like this treatment! The floor is cold, and also there's a step, which. With a wriggling cat, not so fun!

Aaaayway, I got the boobs-version of the art I've been doing finished today, which was great! I'm doing some dressup outfits, for an event, and yeah. Both more and less complicated than pet art!

( Pictures under cut! )

Other than that... I've been playing a lot of 10 000 000 - I got it when I was away, and I played it a bunch, but it was super hard because it's a mouse-only game (it's a port of a mobile game, so not surprising haha), and my trackpad and my wrist hate each other. A lot. So I installed it on the PC today, and I'm either close to or have surpassed where I was at on the laptop already! |D Combo of knowing what I'm doing and mousing being better for my hands, I think. Not that it's a long game, either, but yeah.

I'd keep playing, but I have to be up tomorrow morning and have a shower before we go Out for lunch - it's Father's Day, which, meh, but hey! Dumplings! I am... pretty much never going to pass up free dumplings, I fucking love dumplings. :9 :9 :9 (IIRC they also had bbq pork buns last time, too, omnomnom.)
tyger: Xion-sprite, glaring. (Xion - >[)
/artistic tantrum.

I don't know WHY my code keeps breaking, but at least I'm 90% sure I know *what* is breaking it this time? So I guess that's something. Something utterly incomprehensible - why would a loop in a loop break my code this is what COMPUTERS ARE GOOD AT - but still, something.

And it took me like an hour to figure that much out, so I'm going to bed now. Hopefully bugsquishing tomorrow, yes.

Other than that: ( Lecture things! )

Also, I played the demo for Kathy Rain this evening; seems like it'll be a fun little point and click detective game, though it's got that slightly ~edgy~ feel to it (punk rebel girl comes back to her hometown and investigates her mysterious family history), which is kind of meh for me. Set in the 90s, if you like that sort of thing, so full of analogue tech etc., if you like that kind of mystery. (I fully expect there to be a 'someone cut the phone line and we can't call for help, there's no such thing as mobile phones' sequence in there somewhere, hahaha. It seems like that kind of game.) I probably won't get it at full price - it's like $13USD? - but I've got it on my Steam wishlist so I know when it goes on sale. :3
tyger: Izumi hugging Ed and Al (Izumi - hugs)
Today was pretty quiet, which was nice. Didn't leave the house!

Some good things:

1. Played a bunch of games! :D I do like gaming, though keyboards are hard. (See below, heh.) This included The Old Tree* - it's free to play, and only takes about ten minutes (maybe a little longer if you're not as familiar with point and click games as I am). 100% dialogue free, it's just... nice. It's really more like a visual picture book with interactive elements than a game - kinda like a pop-up book, but requiring slightly more thinking than that. Not *much* more, though, I'm fairly sure almost anyone could play through it. :3 Anyway, definitely recommend if you like odd but sweet atmospheric fiction experiences, which is kinda a mouthful but hey. :3

*I played it through Steam, but that's the dev's official site, so. ^^-

2. I made a pav for tomorrow! Yay! :3

3. Hung out with Azy a bunch which is awesome. Times when we're both not at work are a lot fewer than they used to be. :/ Life is dumb, basically, but what can you do. Have fun while you can, I guess! |D

Annoying thing: ( Cut for grump and also long post is long. PS3 controller on PC. )
